In December 2014, hundreds of delegates came together in a first-of-its-kind Regional Summit to announce their endorsement of a long-term regional vision: "The Quad Cities is recognized in 2030 for growing and attracting talent and businesses, is energized by a diverse and culturally rich community, inspires innovation, and embraces lifelong learning." One hundred forty five (145) entities representing businesses, not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions and local governments committed to working together as a region to enhance the standard of living and quality of life for all residents in the bi-state community.
The Q2030 Action Fund supports strategic initiatives that advance the Q2030 regional vision. The Q2030 Action Fund enables activities and community collaborations that align with the four pillars of Q2030: Cool Places; Creative People; a Connected Region; a Prosperous Economy. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, those related to the Mississippi River, cultural amenities, downtowns, neighborhoods, non-traditional forums, recreation, signature events, workforce / career development, healthy living, leadership development, talent and business attraction, diversity & inclusion, regional branding, community collaborations / shared services, intra-regional transportation and infrastructure, manufacturing innovation, the I-74 gateway, entrepreneurial culture and sustainability of the Q2030 movement.
We anticipate the Q2030 Action Fund will spark community collaborations, alignment of resources and strategic programming that will have an impact on poverty rates, educational attainment, per capita income, and community satisfaction ratings -- all key metrics that will be tracked as indicators of regional success.
