Thank you for considering a donation to the Lindsay Suhl Memorial Scholarship
Donations fund the Linsday Suhl Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior at Pleasant Valley High School. This scholarship is a part of the Pleasant Valley Schools Educational Foundation. Its mission is to provide a scholarship to every deserving senior at PVHS. The Lindsay Suhl Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who is a leader and positive role model who plans on going to a four-year college or vocational school. Thank you for your donation!
The Lindsay Suhl Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 by her family and friends when she died of cancer at the age of 14. Lindsay would have been a member of the PVHS class of 2008.
Lindsay was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in February of 2004. Lindsay was in the 8th grade at PV Jr. High at the time. She had lived in Bettendorf just over a year and a half at the time of her diagnosis, but was already a friend to many. Her friends and family remember her for her witty sense of humor, her fun-loving personality, her generosity and compassion, her ability to make everyone feel comfortable, and her contagious smile. She believed that everyone deserved a chance, treated everyone fairly and didn’t judge people on their looks or beliefs. She was a high honor roll student. She worked hard and always strived to do her best and didn’t quit until she accomplished what she had set out for. She enjoyed volleyball, track, and basketball. She loved to read and was a huge Harry Potter fan. Before moving to the Quad Cities, she was involved in softball, basketball, track, and was a JFL cheerleader. She spent her summer months on the lake swimming, waterskiing and tubing.
Lindsay was an awesome sister and role model to her two younger sisters, Lauren and Devyn. She was the type of daughter a parent could only dream of having, but for her parents it was a reality.
Linsday’s family’s hope is that this scholarship will help make the road for a prospective college student a little easier financially and that it keeps Lindsay’s memory alive.
This is a $1,000 scholarship, one of 70 given to PVHS graduating seniors by the Pleasant Valley Educational Foundation. Since its start in 2006, the scholarship has been awarded to twelve students, directly impacting their continued education. Your donation will allow this scholarship to continue.
